Lead Testing & Consulting
The EPA’s RRP (Renovation, Repair and Painting) Program has established guidelines for performing work that disturbs lead paint. Lead is a naturally occurring metallic element that can result in significant health problems, especially for children and pregnant or nursing women. Lead exposure in homes and buildings comes primarily from building materials, chiefly lead-based paint, which was commonly used in older homes. Per the EPA, “firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and pre-schools built before 1978 have their firm certified by EPA (or an EPA authorized state), use certified renovators who are trained by EPA-approved training providers and follow lead-safe work practices.”
